Project: The Life and Times of Manly Macdonald
Provided narration and music soundtrack for a narrated slideshow chronicling Manly MacDonald’s life’s achievements and his paintings through the seasons. Created in support of the book Manly E. MacDonald – Interpreter of Old Ontario by biographer, Charles Beale. Born at Point Anne near Belleville, noted Canadian painter Manly Maconald was a contemporary of the Group of Seven. He died in 1971 at the age of 82.

Aside from being Avril Lavigne’s hometown, Napanee is steeped in history. Narration, interviews, music, ambient sound and sound effects combine to create a rich listening experience. The sound of gunfire from an American Revolutionary War re-enactment, mixed with dramatic music, engages the listener like a movie trailer on the opening track of the audio tour CD .

Historical sign marking the original mills at Napanee
The waterfalls at Springside Park in Napanee was the engine that drove the economy of the town in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In this track from the Napanee audio tour we blend the sound of an 18th century steam locomotive and the actual sound of the falls in Napanee with narration, music and an interview clip with Jane Foster, Manager of the Lennox & Addington County Museum.
